Miracle in a Dry Season - A Unique, Charming Read

I'm glad I picked up Sarah Loudin Thomas' debut novel. Miracle in a Dry Season. It's a classic tale of forgiveness and healing--of pride and humility. Perla Long comes to 1950s Wise, West Virginia to escape her past. Instead, her past follows her right to town--and all the judgement that goes along with it. The townsfolk of Wise are battling a drought and looking for a miracle; a miracle that, seemingly, Perla can provide. Let's not forget bachelor Casewell Phillips--he has a strong lesson to be learned in pride and forgiveness.

Miracle in a Dry Season made for a nice, light summer read. It had a whimsical element to it, a Spiritual side, and a hint of romance. I enjoyed reading it--it was easy to learn a lesson with engaging characters like Perla and Casewell.
