Full Steam Ahead - Another Favorite from Karen Witemeyer

Witemeyer has done it again. At this rate, she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her last novel, Stealing the Preacher, was a keeper--needless to say, I had high expectations this time around. She did not disappoint.

In Full Steam Ahead, our heroine, Nicole Renard, has a mission--to live up to her father's expectations. Namely, find a husband (...aka an heir to Renard Shipping) before it's too late! Throw into the mix a lifelong rivalry with a shipping competitor, the Jenkins, and the coveted Lafitte Dagger, and Nicole is on the run from trouble while trying to secure a husband, as per her father's wishes. Along the way she meets Darius Thornton, a reclusive "mad" scientist obsessed with testing boiler explosions.

I loved this book--I wanted to savor it and enjoy the story, but I couldn't put it down at the same time--I was too connected to the characters. Darius and Nicole are interesting, unique, and fun characters, and Witemeyer's exciting plot keeps you on your toes. Sometimes you'll laugh out loud and sometimes you'll be gripped with tension.

If you couldn't already tell--I highly recommend this book, as well as Witemeyer's others. I love her writing and her stories are always memorable and engaging!
