A Keeper - Goodnight, Ark

I really loved Goodnight, Ark. I would go so far as to say it has become one of my favourite, most treasured picture book.

Goodnight, Ark is a fun slant on the classic Noah's Ark story--it's bedtime, but the animals are afraid from the storm. Poor Noah has a myriad of animals in his bed and has to find a way to keep calm and order. It makes a nice bedtime story to read together with your child.

I loved it. Why? A few things.

1. Everything rhymes. Sassi retells a classic story in a brand new way, but she also makes it rhyme. It's fun to read aloud and the rhythm makes it even more enjoyable for children.

2. The illustrations. They are full of color, action, silliness, and softness--children will take time to investigate all the details of the picture. The illustration made the book for me. They are beautiful.

I highly recommend this book. It's cute, it's fun, and it's brilliantly illustrated.
