Gorgeous Book; Compelling, Conversational Content

I've heard a lot about Lysa TerKeurst, though I've never read any of her other works before. When I saw Embraced, I felt compelled to read.

It was initially the gorgeous look of the book, from the softly robin's egg blue colored cloth-over-board hardcover to the pretty fonts chosen for the interior...but when I started reading, TerKeurst's friendly, conversational tone and heartfelt topics grasped my attention.

Embraced is a 100-day devotional to help you know God's love and feel encouraged. Split into 4 transformative parts, each devotion begins with a verse, includes up to two pages of text, and closes with a short prayer. There is also a key call-out for each devotional.

The devotionals were a bit longer than I thought, each about 3-4 pages long. Devotional titles include things like:

-Read This Before Making That Decision
-Replacing Old Lies With New Truths
-Yesterday's Huts in Today's Relationships
-Something to Consider With Criticism

Devotions are titled and indexed at the end of the book (by topic), so you can easily find specifically targeted devotionals. Some topics include comparison, disappointment, heartbreak, rejection, and wisdom. The back of the book also includes 31 personalized verses to supplant your own name into to take God's love personally.

In all, this is a great devotional to get into for the next 100 days. It would also make a beautiful gift for someone who is struggling or someone who just needs to feel God's love and presence.
