Stealing the Preacher - A Book Review

After reading Stealing the Preacher, I understand why Karen Witemeyer has received such praise for her novels. Stealing the Preacher has the perfect blend of excitement, humour, and romance to earn a favoured spot on my bookshelf.

Basically, Joanna Robbins, our ambitious, funny, and gifted heroine with a heart of gold, is looking for a preacher. Not for herself; for that empty church near her home. Crockett Archer is the perfect man for the job. He just doesn't know it yet. He's kidnapped off the train and, well, you'll have to read it to find out what happens.

With a plot line like that, you know this is going to be a humorous read. Witemeyer was able to not only create laugh-out-loud situations and scrambles, but also a surprisingly potent spiritual element to the novel as well. I so appreciated the assertive Christian element to the rousing tale; it made this story even better.

I'm looking forward to Witemeyer's next release. Give this book a read if you're looking for something old-timey and fun.
