A Bible Just for Babies
I must admit, I was a little unfamiliar with the concept of a Read & Play Bible--I was picturing something with just Bible Stories. This is much more; it includes Bible stories, but also fun instructions for interaction related to the story. On one side of the page, you have a simplified, cute story. On the other, there is interactive text (actions like tickling or pointing or something to say aloud).
Each page begins with a title, a Bible verse reference, and then a little story (about a paragraph long). There are 22 stories in total, giving you lots of stories to read and reread. It includes stories like Zacchaeus, Jesus and the Little Children, Daniel in the Lion's Den, and Adam and Eve.
A puffy hardcover book with board-style pages, this book is built for babies. It can withstand lots of reading, dropping, and playing. It is also a great way to share the Bible with little ones (and a good way to spend time together!). Babies will enjoy your lilting voice during the reading and young toddlers will enjoy performing the actions.
The illustrations really sold this book for me. They are absolutely adorable--everything is cute and baby friendly! Every "adult" character is depicted as a child...very soft and sweet. I loved the color and I think children will too.
