A Sweet PEI Love Story - You'll Feel All The Feels

I loved my vacation to PEI this year. I was there for a few weeks--smelled the crisp ocean air, took in the beautiful scenery... oh, wait... sorry.

I wasn't actually there, if we're getting to specifics. I... um... read Beyond the Tides by Liz Johnson.

Have I told you this book is set in PEI yet? (Haha.) Well, the basic idea is, Meg Whitaker, daughter of a fisherman, is dead set on proving that she can take over her family's lobster fishing business--NOT this fella named Oliver, someone who has been on Meg's bad side since high school. But, her father is a fair man, and his solution involves them working together for a season.

There's lots to enjoy in this novel--some great, laugh-out-loud moments, and some tender family moments that were unexpected, but helped me really care about the characters.

I picked this book up on a whim, thinking I miss PEI, and this might be a nice way to visit! But Beyond the Tides was more than just a love story set on PEI. It was a beautiful journey, complete with laughter and tears. And I'm definitely anxiously awaiting the next book in the Prince Edward Island Shores series to come out!
