Balancing Spiritual and Clinical Wisdom on Anxiety

Managing Worry and Anxiety by Holthaus, Jean

Anxiety is a prevalent issue today. Most of us can find something to worry about without thinking too hard. And that's why I think books like this are important.

There are a lot of books out there on anxiety, with lots of good tips and tricks. What I've found rare though is a book that talks about anxiety from a spiritual angle. That's where Jean Holthaus' Managing Worry and Anxiety comes into play.

I wasn't sure if this book would be more clinical or anecdotal, but I found it to be the perfect balance of the two. Helpful diagrams and scientific fact allow this book to dig deeper--but what I really liked was the ease of understanding when the clinical element was paired with Holthaus' friendly tone.

Best of all, this book integrates God into the center of your struggle with anxiety--something most of these books are missing. And that is what really gave me hope in reading this book.
