Take a Sip and Let it Soak In

The Next Right Thing HC by Emily P. FreemanSoothing. Lovely. Grace-imbued.

These are words that come to mind when I think of The Next Right Thing.

I first heard of Emily Freeman on a podcast where she was a guest. I instantly felt drawn to her gentle, personal manner, and knew I needed to pick up a copy of this book.

I'm so glad I did.

The Next Right Thing is basically a book of great advice from a tender friend. In your doubt and worry, Freeman's voice offers some clarity and wisdom. When you need to make a decision, you just need to do "the next right thing."

This book is divided up into 24 chapters, with each passage showcasing a thought-provoking quote, some content expanding on the subject, and closing with a short, read-along prayer and a practice to put your lesson in action. I love the prayer and practice components of each chapter, because it allowed me to apply these nuggets of wisdom to my life.

I found every chapter refreshing, from on-point subjects like "Name the Narrative" to "Know What You Want More" to fun ideas like "Stop Collecting Gurus" and "Wear Better Pants."

This book is so full of the grace I didn't know I needed. It's the kind of book you savor, taking a sip here and there an letting it soak in.
