Improve Your Prayer Life and Grow Closer to Your Daughter

Almost every Christian parent I know desires good lives for their children. We can worry about everything, from the friends they make to the career path they eventually pursue. And almost every Christian parent I know wants to pray for their children in these areas. Sometimes, it just seems difficult to know where to start and what to pray for. 

Let me introduce you to a book called Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter: Praying for Every Part of Her Life. This book features 88 topics to pray for, including things like "When She's Rejected" or "When She Considers Dating," allowing you to specifically look for wisdom on a topic or go through each one. Each prayer topic starts with a few verses and has a one or two page written prayer that you can read or customize in your prayer time. Sprinkled among the prayers are callout boxes with stories from the authors or other authors relating to issues you as a parent may face or want to understand better (e.g., "Her Relationship with Her Dad").

I think this book is a beautiful idea for a few reasons:

• Books like this improve your prayer life. Instead of worrying or fretting about your daughter, you're bringing it to the Lord in prayer.
• You will grow closer to your daughter. There are prayer ideas about things I wouldn't naturally have considered, like "When She's Discovering her Spiritual Gifts" or "When She's Bored." The prayers have details that help me better understand my daughter's perspective.

I'm so glad this book exists, and it's inspired me to look for similar books with prayers for a spouse, sibling, or friend. What a wonderful resource!
