A Bride for Keeps - Melissa Jagears - Book Review

A Bride for Keeps was one of my fastest-ever reads, just because I enjoyed it so much, I couldn't stop reading!

At first, the book is a humorous, happy-go-lucky romp. You've got Julia, a cultured, beautiful woman from the East, matched with Everett, a hard-working farmer (with three past attempts at gaining a mail-order bride). It's fun and a little outlandish. But, as you get to know the characters a little better, this story goes much deeper. Both Everett and Julia have histories they'd rather forget, and it is only when they give their pasts up to God that they are free. I was glad there was a spiritual element to this story; in my opinion, it makes the love between the two main characters a whole lot deeper and more meaningful.

As the story developed, I found it hard to put down! Melissa Jagears' writing talent kept me invested in the novel and, sometimes, even as tortured as the two lead characters!

I'd definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of historical Christian fiction.
