I Couldn't Stop Reading...

Hidden in the Night had me absolutely hooked! Fair warning--you will be plunged into non-stop adventure right from the first chapter!

The premise is this: Ivy Elliott, former FBI agent and current rare book connoisseur, is in Alaska to purchase a formerly lost Jack London manuscript. Only thing is, the manuscript is missing, along with a young woman who is very likely in danger. Ivy has to team up with local Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long to get to the bottom of the tangled web of mysteries involving the book and the missing woman.

I loved this book. It was so gripping, I stayed up late to read it and woke up early to keep reading it! I think Goddard is a fantastic suspense author, and I really loved the romantic element woven throughout this story. Ivy and Nolan were really likeable, believable characters, and I was so invested in their journey.

I really appreciated the clean nature of this book as well. Although the story involves some more dramatic suspense, gory details are left out. Same with any romance--it all stays sweet. I also liked Goddard's ability to weave Christian elements, prayers, and Bible verses throughout the story!

Hidden in the Night is book 3 of the Missing in Alaska series by Elizabeth Goddard. I hadn't read the first two books, so I was afraid I might miss something, but this book worked just fine as a standalone. It read as though Nolan and Ivy might have met in the previous book, and I think a few characters make a cameo, so if you have read the other books in the series, you'll enjoy this one. If you haven't, like me, you're going to want to pick them up too (like me).
