An Intriguing Tale - With Horses of Course!

It’s cozy season. And that means it’s a good time to curl up with a warm blanket and good book. And The Secrets of Emberwild was the perfect one for me these days.

Set at the turn of the century, readers quickly get to know our heroine, Nora Fenton. She's a passionate, spirited woman born at the wrong time--when her talent with horses is not only unrecognized, but seen as unladylike. But circumstances force her into the "rider's seat" as she gains the responsibility of keeping her family's horse farm afloat. And while Nora has a deep understanding of horses, she isn't fully aware of all the secrets buried at the farm. Oh, and speaking of secrets, a mysterious young man, Silas Cavallero, shows up to mix things up a little bit. And while I can't give too much away, you can be sure this story offers a ride to remember, with lots of twists!

I've gotten out of my historical fiction habit lately, but the horse theme and gorgeous cover on this book drew me in. And I think I've been missing out! McGee really pulls you in from the opening pages and I appreciated the solid pacing of this novel. If you're a horse lover, like me, you'll definitely enjoy this read!
