Thankful - Perfect Read for this Season

Thankful is a sweet book on thankfulness. The book has simple statements on what different characters are thankful for (e.g., "The gardener's thankful for every green sprout."). Children who are learning to read could read along, and the rhyme throughout makes it a fun story to read aloud.

The whimsical illustrations extend the story - readers can see the story is about a brother and a sister (the gardener and the fireman, etc.) and are very cute. Some take up the entire page, and would be fun to investigate with your child (for instance, find the cat!).

While not openly a Thanksgiving book--this could certainly be enjoyed all year--the shades of orange, yellow, red, and brown make it the perfect book to read at Thanksgiving.

The only thing I wanted more of was Christian references (but still a sweet book with a good message). There is a nice Bible verse on the dedication page.
