The Good, The Bad, and The Grace of God - Book Review

I've been a fan of Duck Dynasty for quite some time and enjoyed other books put out by the family members, so when I saw The Good, The Bad, and the Grace of God, I knew I had to give it a read.

I'm really glad I did. I'm not sure what I was expecting--maybe some more funny stories, a way to get to know the family better--but what I got was moving honesty.

Jep and Jessica share about their lives in a linear way. Each chapter is written either by Jessica or Jep and is centered around one part of their life experience up till now--going to school, when they first met, etc. They both have their own voice, and each chapter is easy to read--almost like a conversation.

This book is so much more than a memoir; this book is chock-full of lessons of grace and forgiveness. I was impressed by how honest Jep and Jessica were in this book--they were humble, open, and, most of all, giving glory to God.

Even for readers who aren't huge fans of the TV show, like I am, will learn from and enjoy this book. I enjoyed the silly anecdotes and the story of their relationship, but most of all I enjoyed the focus on God's love and forgiveness. It was really moving, and wonderful to see this side of the family.

Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
