Curious Creatures: Jam-Packed With Fun Animal Facts

I would have loved this book as a kid. Animal facts, adorable pictures, and a Christian perspective? Golden.

Curious Creatures is a book on all sorts of God's creatures--whether in the rain forest, jungle, Arctic, or "down under." This book is 4 books in one (includes Rain Forest Friends, Jungle Beasts, Polar Pals, and Curious Creatures Down ) of Level 2 I Can Read titles.

There are lots of pictures in this book, so if your child is an animal lover, they'll be captured by the interesting and cute images and bright colours. It's also jam-packed with interesting facts along the margins. The book is written simply enough that if your child is learning to read, they can give this book a try. However, this book also works for younger kids who like to be read to, just because of the subject matter. Even I enjoyed learning about the different creatures (you're never too old, I guess...).

One thing I would have liked is if the pictures were more specific. For instance, one part of the book was about iguanas, and talked about a few different kinds of iguanas. The pictures all showed different colours and sizes, but not what they were called. It would have been nice to have that labelled as well, so older children can identify the different types.

In all, it is a fun book and a good one to add to the collection. I know a little boy in particular who is going to love it...
