Bread and Wine By Shauna Niequist: A Booksneeze Review

Well, there's no doubt about it. Shauna Niequist is one poetic, conversational author. Bread and Wine is a book about...well...life. Life with perfectly relevant, indulgent recipes at the end of every chapter.

In the first few chapters, Niequist is already like an old friend. Whether reading it in the kitchen while preparing a meal or reading it before bed, simply opening Bread and Wine feels like sitting in the living room, having a heart to heart with someone so transparent, it feels like you've known eachother forever. Niequist's strikingly honest, vulnerable stories give the book a depth and meaning beyond fantastic meal ideas.

This book was a great reminder of the heart of life. As Niequist puts it, the "feasting and fasting" ebb and flow of life. Sometimes you've got blessing, sometimes you get pain. And so many people have a story to tell. The important thing is to open your heart (and your table) and live it along with Jesus.

If you're looking for an inspiring summer read (with delicious recipes included), give this book a try.
