Jesus Is __. by Judah Smith: Booksneeze Review

Check out that fantastic cover art!
In Jesus Is _____., Judah Smith discusses 6 central aspects of Jesus (that are, in today's society, sometimes less-than-remembered). The two sections that especially touched me were "Jesus is Grace" and "Jesus is Happy."

All the chapters start with a statement about a part of who Jesus is, and then dive deeper into subsections that use anecdotes, scripture, and discussion to really bring it to life. According to Judah, the goal of the book is to "...help you see Jesus for who he really is and to understand what that means for your life."

It certainly worked for me. This book definitely stretched my view of Jesus; some statements just made me go, "Whoa." Judah's conversational, easy-going tone made this book a really easy, fulfilling read; just like I was chatting with a friend.

What I learned from this book can best be summed up by this quote in the last chapter:

I don't want to just talk about Jesus, sing about Jesus, and preach about Jesus on Sunday. I want Jesus every day, in every area of my life.

I would recommend if you're looking for a way to get to know Jesus a bit better. As a 20-something, I'd say this book is definitely suited for my demographic (but not limited to it)!
