Booksneeze Review: The Respect Dare by Nina Roesner

The Respect Dare is a resource to help your marriage and grow closer to God. With 40 dares, each for a separate day in the journey, you will be challenged, affirmed, and enriched.

Each dare begins with a Bible verse to focus the lesson, a story about a situation that you have likely experienced (these are all real-life examples from women), then a "bottom line" lesson to take from the chapter, and some questions and action items to apply to your day.

Ideally, you would take this 40-day challenge, read a dare first thing in the morning, and complete the action items throughout the day.

I liked that Roesner made this book so easy to digest and apply to your life. Since it is a walk through 40 days, it is simpler than, say, a year-long commitment, and every day has something very specific and applicable--just one thing you need to focus on for that day. As well, as the days go on, the lessons build on eachother and previous dares become more natural.

I also liked that she had short, to-the-point chapters and often referred back to lessons in earlier parts of the book. I liked that every chapter started off with a different, applicable Bible verse--it's certainly hard to argue with God!

This book is such a great resource for a married woman looking to be a more Godly wife. Even though I'm not married, the tips in this book are incredibly useful and challenging and I can apply them to any relationship in my life.

Give it forty days, and see what God has in store for you and your marriage!
